Quilting the Quilt

This tutorial starts from the very beginning explaining the equipment you need, the materials including batting and backing fabric. It then goes on to explain the basting process then onto quilting the quilt. We use stitch in the ditch and touch on free motion quilting. A must watch for the beginner quilter.

 

What can I do with a fat quarter? 

Below is a chart showing how many strips or squares that can be cut from a fat quarter. A fat quarter usually measures 18” x 22” For cutting purposes I have calculated the quantities below on a piece of fabric measuring 17” x 21” to take into account the selvedge.
